Following the government announcement we are due to reopen to all children on Monday 8th March.

  • The Year 3 school day will be from 9.00 until 3.20 with lunch between 12.15 and 1.00.
  • Only one adult to drop off and pick up your child from the playground and they must wear a face covering.
  • Please try and arrive with  your child no earlier than 8.55 to help us keep social distancing between parents who will be dropping children for other year groups earlier.
  • If you need to drop your child before 8.55, they will be able to wait in the playground with a member of staff from 8.45.  There is a breakfast club run from 8.00, please speak to a member of the admin team about the criteria for accessing the breakfast club.
  •  Please try and arrive to collect your child as near to 3.20 as possible, again to avoid too many people in the playground at a time.
  • If you do need to wait in the playground, we ask that you remember to keep social distancing from other adults and children of at least 2 metres.

Home learning

Please choose the day on the right-hand side to find the learning for today.

Each day we will post videos that support the paper packs that you collected from school on Monday.  Your child will need to watch the videos as the teacher explains what they need to do by modelling examples, guiding your child through some examples and then setting further work to do independently.

We realise that if you access the Internet using a 4G device, watching the videos can quickly mean your data packages can be used up.  There is support available for increased data packages by accessing this form Request for additional 4G data package.

Children can also access the Internet via a games console at home. If you need support to do this further details are available here Internet access on a games console.

Please come to school on Monday 1st March to collect your learning for the week.

Writing Competition

Exciting news! National Literacy Trust and Peterborough Reads are delighted to launch an exciting creative writing competition as part of the Connecting Stories project, with support from authors Guy Bass and Danny Wallace.

They are inviting children aged 7-11 from across Peterborough to create a piece of writing based on the theme ‘The World Around Us’.

We want you to write a piece of creative writing about a place that is special to you. This can be as simple as a description of a place you see on your journey to school, your favourite local park, football stadium, even your own street! You could get really creative and imagine something extraordinary taking place in your chosen location. Maybe the local shopping centre has been taken over by aliens, or Peterborough Cathedral has started levitating high above the city. It’s up to you!

You can choose any format you like – a story, a poem, news article or diary entry. You can include some illustrations too. Entries should be one page of A4 or 500 words maximum and written in English.

Everyone who enters the competition will receive a certificate and will have a chance to get their work published in an anthology and displayed in a local exhibition. There will also be book prizes for the winning entries.

The competition booklet is attached to this email for more information and writing prompts.

Winning entries will be chosen based on originality, imagination, relation to the theme and overall enjoyment.

To submit entries or if you have any questions, please email Miss Nargis: znargis@gpa.education or hand it in to your teacher to give to Miss Nargis.

Deadline is Wednesday 10th March 2021.
